Story

Vu-meter with multicolored LED dot bar

The presented vu-meter is an electronic instrument used to measure the volume of electrical audio frequency signals displayed on a scale of 10 LEDs in ascending order. This circuit requires a power supply from a direct current source between 12V and 18V.

The vu-meter in the electronic diagram below has an indication with 10 LEDs and requires few components next to the dedicated IC LM3915.

At the base of the operation of this vu-meter is the integrated circuit LM3915 which controls each LED according to the received input signal. In this project a vu-meter was built for a mono input, but a pair can be built to use them in stereo mode.
