Story

Expansion board for ESP32

Hello everyone!

This is my new PCB design. I wanted to share it with you on this platform.

This expansion board is designed to be compatible with ESP32 boards. It is an expansion board with the help of which an ESP32-WROOM-32 module can be more easily connected, for example to a breadboard, sensors, others or to jumper wires. Through this board, a simple way of using the ESP32 has been reached and thanks to the 2.54mm pins headers, you can leave the ESP32 on this expansion board and mount it like that in a case, for example, because you have screw holes available.

The main supply voltage is 7-9V through the barrel jack. Through this voltage source, both the ESP32 board is powered, but other components or modules can also be powered because there are pins from the rail on the expansion board directly connected to this main source. The module also contains a jumper switch on the power supply (you can replace it with a simple strap if you don't need it) and LED indicator for its presence. There are also two rails for GPIO, two rails for GND, two rails for 3V3 and 3 for 5V. I tried to signal the presence of rails on the silkscreen board. You can mount female or male headers, it's your choice.

Attention!

Locate the power supply pins properly and remember that the voltage regulators of 5V and 3.3V (ESP32 onboard) are SMD, they are not of high power and cannot supply a whole mass of circuits.

Check the electronic diagram before anything else.

It would be nice if you could share photos when you buy and assemble this expansion board.

Have a nice day!

Thank you!

Have fun with it!
