This is a 3D printed enclosure for Elecrow CrowPanel ESP32 HMI 5.0-inch Display
Easy to print, no need for support
Easy to assemble, perfect snap on.
No screws, no glue.
This project consists of three parts that assemble without glue or screws.
The idea is to use the CrowPanel ESP32 HMI 5.0" as the HMI for my home automation system. That's why I wanted something discreet and that would blend into the home. Integrating doesn't mean unoriginal. The CrowPanel's form factor is ideal for making a mini computer monitor.
In my design projects, I always seek the best compromise between design and ease of manufacture. That's why I divided the project into three parts that don't require wasting plastic through supports. It's essential for me that assembly requires minimal handling or accessories. Generally, the design should be self-contained enough to hold together in one piece: I use friction fit to hold two parts in place, possibly secured with small dowels (also friction fit). Using friction requires a controlled tolerance and therefore a good calibration of the 3D printer. I generally use a tolerance of 0.2mm.
