This project made on our summer vacation period and that because a friend of mine has all the component in his drawer. We made because it was interesting and all similar web site has this option in high value when including shipping and customs.
It is very easy to work. The procedure of how external memory works in the atmega series are in the manuals. The simplest way is to move the heap to the external ram and you have some ram to do or to store whatever you need. We try to store graphics and then transfer to the screen but with the lack of DMA that benefit was zero. The AVR mega which I know support this option are the following.

We haven’t any complete arduino project to uploaded but in the arduno forum there are a lot of examples of how it works.
As the arduino is 8 bit system so the memory which could see is 64KB.
