Crowbits-Light Sensor is an analog input module, it controls your circuit with light. The light sensor measures the light intensity to know how dark or bright the environment is to activate your circuit.
l The main component of the light sensor module is a photo resistor, which is a light-controlled variable resistor. The resistance of a photo resistor decreases with increasing incident light intensity. The interface of the light sensor is an analog interface, it can read the analog value of the brightness.
1. When the environment is getting darker, the analog value the light sensor outputs is getting bigger and bigger, and its effect on the output module is more obvious.
Use cases
A popular usage for a light sensor is a night-bulb. Once it gets dark the light sensor can automatically detect it and turn on an LED to light the room. Once the morning comes, the sensor will detect the light coming back and turn off the LED to save energy.
Tips
The sensitivity is adjustable by rotating the potentiometer.
