The CANADUINO® Breadboard Power Supply Module is a huge upgrade from those "regular" modules with their 3.3V and 5V linear voltage regulator. It provides a 12V output besides the 3.3V and 5V standard voltages and integrates a USB-UART for programming and monitoring. The modern design with DC-DC switching technology guarantees very high efficiency, almost no heat dissipation, short-circuit and over-current protection. LEDs clearly show the status of every voltage output and the serial communication lines.
The 7-pin header provides the serial connection, reset signal, and the 3 voltages. For example, one power lane can be set to 12V and one to 5V, and you still have the 3.3V available for an external sensor, for example.
The position of the voltage selection switches avoids the accidental change of voltages.
